Help Me Write NaNoWriMo! #2

Good morning, my lovely bookaholics! You may remember from an earlier post that I am entering NaNoWriMo this year. And to put a twist on it, I have decided that I’m going to write a story based on your suggestions! You can tell me what characters you want to see, what settings, what themes… and I’ll write something a novel out of it. Then, after the first draft is edited and proofread, I will make it available as a free e-book for all of you.

I have already received a few suggestions. Do you know what they are? Well, keep reading to find out!

First and foremost is the genre. What kind of novel will this be…?

Needless to say, that suits me just fine, as I am a fantasy writer myself! This is not set in stone yet, as I will be waiting for more ideas, but I would feel quit at home with this!

Next thing is the protagonist. Who should that be…?

That’s two votes for a strong female lead! I will try my best to bring to life a character you will love πŸ™‚

As for the plot…?

I really like this idea; it has already put my brain in motion, trying to think of a story that would suit this theme.

So, for now, we have…

A strong female character in an epic fantasy setting who lives underwater and will to deal with her home drying up.

It sounds so good already! I really want to know what will happen… andΒ these are only the initial brushes! You can participate, too, and choose what kind of story you want me to create for you.

I would particularly like to thank Barb Knowles, 1000hoursleft, Deborah O’Carroll, and Vinnieh for their fantastic ideas. You are great! Thank you very much!!Β β™₯

And to the rest of you, I would love it if you sent me your suggestions! I will look forward to reading them! πŸ™‚

  1. This is a marvelous idea and a great way to incorporate what readers really want into your writing!
So it sounds like this is going to be very myth-oriented, so what if the reason your main character leaves is to find the cause of the lake drying up only to discover a society more closely related to our own reality than hers?
    Best of luck!

  2. Wow, that’s a great idea. I’m doing NaNoWriMo too. I’d love to be buddies there. πŸ™‚
So I was just thinking about the premise and it sounds really exciting. It could be that she blames the Sun (obviously) and sets out to take revenge and maybe later discovers that it’s due to complex environmental changes caused by other creatures? It’s a very serious issue now, but reading about it in an epic fantasy would resonate with readers I believe. I don’t know if you’d want to incorporate that – it was just something off the top of my head. Good luck with it! πŸ™‚

  3. This is such a great idea to make it a crowd book. I am doing NaNoWriMo too. I do it every year but this time, I am way behind on the prep. I am not even sure what genre I want to write. The result of this experiment should be interesting
