You may have noticed that I’ve been a tiny bit absent lately. That is because I’ve been preparing for next week—I’ve been invited to give a lecture at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid!
More concretely, I will be one of the speakers at the IV International Conference of Myth Criticism, which will revolve around Myths and Emotions. You can check the official website here.
My lecture will take place on the 26th of October, and will be about the Apocalypse myth. I’ll be trying to explain why humans would become so obsessed with creating a religious tale where the whole of the world dies in some cosmic cataclysm. And to tell the truth, I’m really really nervous! It’ll be my first time talking to such a large audience!
My flight takes off on Saturday, and after that, I’ll stay on Madrid until the 2nd of November. I will my best, however, to keep writing regularly on this blog—and, more importantly, to undertake NaNoWriMo!
Well, off to Madrid it is. Wish me luck!
