Siren Gift:
Lapis Lazuli Diadem

Likes: Books, playing with magic, her family
Dislikes: Untidiness, unreasonable people

Chapter 3 of SirenSong introduced Lux’s older sister, Stella. As the librarian of Aurea, she keeps every book of the underwater kingdom in her dome-shaped home, which she rarely leaves.

The power of her diadem confers the ability to control the air. It is this power that keeps the waters at bay and permits life in Aurea. If she were to stop using her magic for even one second, the waters would flood the kingdom and destroy everything within.

Because of this, Stella can’t even allow herself to fall asleep. To ensure that that doesn’t happen, the Sirens gave her a concoction that keeps her constantly awake. Although she’s grateful for this, having to stay vigilant at all times has taken a toll on her, making her body thin and weak.

Loving and caring as she is, she never lets her family to worry about her state. She carries her responsibility with a smile, even when she’s hurting. Unable to sleep or leave her home, all she does is read all day, every day…

Introducing Alba! #SirenSong

Age: 16
Height: 1’54 m
Weight: 47 kg

Siren Gift:
Emerald Ankle Bracelet

Likes: Gardening, playing with dolls, fancy dresses, Lux
Dislikes: Anything and anyone that stands in Lux’s way

In SirenSong‘s chapter 2 we met Alba, Lux’s youngest sister, as she danced through the fields to bring a new harvest. She is the owner of the Emerald Ankle Bracelet, which grants its user dominion over nature and vegetation. Because of this power, the whole kingdom of Aurea depends on Alba for sustenance.

She is, however, the least politically inclined of all her siblings. As far as Lux can remember, Alba has never shown any emotion, wearing always a blank, expresionless mask on her face. It is only during periods of exceptional emotional duress that she reveals her true feelings—with a slight tremble or an almost imperceptible twitch of the eye.

It is unknown whether Alba thinks much of her father or her other siblings (other than Stella, whose books she frequently borrows), but she admires and idolizes Lux. Unable as she is of feeling very strong emotions, she wishes for the time when will feel as passionately and intensely about life as Lux does.

In the meantime, she is more than happy to stand by her sister’s side and help her fulfil all her dreams, being the voice of reason in a world that seems to be going insane…

Those of you who have read the prologue and first chapter of SirenSong will be well acquainted with Lux. She’s a troublesome princess who questions the status quo and is never satisfied with bland, meaningless answers.

As a princess of Aurea, she has lived a very sheltered life. She is, however, open-minded and willing to learn; she was, after all, the only person who came to the rescue of Ilios when he was sentenced to death. This means, however, that she often holds views contrary to those of her family and the Aurean society, which make her seem unreliable in the eyes of those who surround her—except for her sister Alba, who admires and adores her above all things.

Lux will be the catalyst for the turmoil that threatens to flood the underwater kingdom of Aurea. Will she bring ruin upon her people, or will she lead them towards the surface…?

Only one way to find out: click that button and read the first chapters on Wattpad! And remember: this Friday I’ll upload chapter 2 of SirenSong, where Lux’s sister Alba is introduced…

SirenSong Is Out!

… kind of!

You may be very rightfully wondering where the heck I’ve been hiding for the past few months. The truth is, my life is incredibly busy on all fronts right now, and the scarce time off I ever get I spend on trying to relax a little bit—occasions so rare I barely get to enjoy them.

But today, I bring you good news! You may remember SirenSong (and if you don’t, you would be excused—the release has been pushed 3 months already because of the unexpected technicalities and bureaucracy of self-publishing). Its release has become ever so slightly complicated, so I have ended up going, for the time being, for a simpler, more immediate solution: I’m going to serialise it on Wattpad!

Let me tell you how it’s going to work.
