Dictator ★★★★★

I feel like I have a lost a close friend. I have just finished Dictator, by Robert Harris.

This is the last instalment in his Cicero trilogy, which marks the end of the old senator’s life as told by Tiro, his freedman. This final book shows us the last fifteen years of Cicero’s life, which were marked by constant turmoil and two civil wars.

Let me tell you more about it.

Book Review – The Year of the Hare

Year Hare.jpg

I don’t know how many among my readers have ever dabbled in Finnish literature. I, for one, can’t boast to have done it too often, with the exception of one author: Arto Paasilinna. Which is kind of crazy; I have grown up listening to Finnish music, I have watched a bunch of Finnish movies, and am generally in love with Finland. It was clear that I had to remedy this regrettable situation as soon as possible.

And that’s what I did.

Introducing The Year of the Hare.

Book Review – Norwegian Wood

I once had a girl or should I say she once had me…

Sorry, sorry, I’m getting carried away!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ★★★☆☆

I have done it! I have finally finished the latest—and last—story in the Harry Potter saga! It took me some time, but I finally got there. And I’ve got to admit, I’m as conflicted as everyone else who has read it. Is it inspiring, or is it just disappointing? Did this story need to happen, or did it help to do nothing but twist the hopes and dreams of potterheads all over the globe? To put it plainly: is it good or bad?

I can’t tell what your opinion of it will be, but I can give you mine!

WARNING!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Good morning, lovely booknebelungcats! I hope you’re potterheads, because today is a great day to be one. Pottermore is the official Harry Potter site with posts from J.K. Rowling herself. There is also plenty of information on every Hogwarts house, every character, and even Ilvermorny, the North American school of wizardry.

And yesterday—just yesterday!—they released a new quiz: the Patronus test!
